Oscillating memory usage
My pc has been very sluggish these few days. I wasn't sure what was the problem. Finally I opened task manager and took a look at the memory usage.
I tried to identify whats the process responsible for this. Initially I looked at what process sucks up most memory, it just shows the usual memory suckers such as web browsers and Windows Live Messenger. I also noticed that the CPU usage is also a little erratic for an idle system. This time I found that its svchost and i took a look at service behind it. Guess who is it... Its Windows Defender! Needless to say, I went to services to disable it from ever starting again.
